Dr. Yasmeen Ahmed is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Building Construction Science at Mississippi State University’s College of Art, Architecture, and Design in the USA . She is an accomplished architect, educator, and researcher with over two decades of experience spanning academia, professional practice, and institutional leadership .
Dr. Ahmed holds a Ph.D. in Art and Design and a Master’s degree from the College of Art and Design, University of the Punjab, alongside an Engineer’s degree from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore . Her research expertise encompasses sustainable architecture, climate-resilient housing, disaster-responsive planning, energy-efficient built environments, and AI-integrated construction education . She has produced 35 peer-reviewed publications, delivered over 100 conference presentations, and contributed to internationally recognized interdisciplinary projects . She serves as Guest Editor for a special issue of the Buildings journal and has secured competitive research grants .
Before her current role at Mississippi State University, Dr. Ahmed held numerous leadership positions in Pakistan, including Chairperson of the Department of Architecture at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), where she served as founding head and played a pivotal role in academic development . She also served as Executive Committee Member of the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) and as a Board Member of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency . Her professional affiliations include membership in the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan .
Dr. Ahmed has received multiple accolades, including gold medals and international research awards, in recognition of her contributions to architectural education and pedagogy . She holds certified online teaching credentials and remains active in professional development, regularly serving as a resource person for training programs and academic workshops nationally and internationally .
